C.M.H. Program

C.M.H. Program

The Children with Medical Handicaps program supports diagnostic and coordinated treatment services for children with special health care needs.

To qualify a child must:

  • Be under 22 years of age

  • Be an Ohio resident

  • Be under the care of CMH approved physician

  • Require diagnostic evaluation to rule out certain conditions

  • Have an eligible medical condition that requires further treatment

  • Be financially eligible for CMH to pay for treatment services

Eligible services may include: 

  • Days in the hospital

  • Hearing Aids

  • Special shoes

  • Lab tests and X-rays

  • Physical, occupational, or speech therapy

  • Special diagnostic tests

  • Surgery and anesthesia

  • Prescription medications

  • Medical equipment and supplies

  • Eyeglasses/contact lenses when related to eligible diagnosis
